Code of conduct

Swing dancing is about joy. To keep it that way for everyone, at Fabrika Kultura, at parties and on stage, we follow a few simple rules.

01 · Respect

Everyone is welcome, whatever their age, background, gender, level or looks. We treat each other the way we want to be treated.

02 · Asking and saying no

Anyone can ask anyone to dance. “No, thank you” is a perfectly normal answer and needs no explanation. We accept it with a smile and don't insist.

03 · Consent and touch

Partner dancing involves contact, but only as much as the dance needs. If something feels uncomfortable, tell your partner or stop the dance.

04 · Safety on the floor

We look after the space around us and around other couples. Air steps only in class or on stage, with a prepared partner and room, never on a crowded social floor.

05 · Learning together

In class we don't correct our partner unless they ask. Questions go to the teachers, and mistakes are part of learning.

06 · Looking after each other

Comfortable shoes, a fresh shirt, water. If you see someone who needs help, help them or tell us.

Something wrong?

If something has bothered you, tell someone from the team on the spot or write to us in confidence at ruse.lindyhopbg@gmail.com. We take every report seriously.
